The director of preventive health Samir Lahouel declared that the number of children with bronchiolitis treated at Tahar Sfar university hospital in Mahdia has attained 117 children since September 2022.
He stated that 15 children with bronchiolitis are still being cared for in the hospital, including 3 infants, adding that no death has been registered.
Lahouel clarified that the treatment period for bronchiolitis lasts between 7 and 10 days and that the transmission of this respiratory infection takes place directly from one person to another through saliva, coughs and sneezes.
