Tunisia-Mahdia: Imposition of targeted lockdown in all delegations

Mahdia Disaster Control Committee held today July 03, 2021, a meeting under the supervision of  Minister of Transport and Logistics, Moez Chakchouk with the attendance of the governor of the region, Abdelfattah Chakchouk.

In view of the deteriorating health situation in Mahdia, it was decided as follows:

  • Targeted lockdown in all delegations for a period of 10 days, from 05 to 14 July 2021
  • Curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Lifting of chairs and ban on consumption on-site in cafes and restaurants from 4 p.m.
  • Ban of gatherings, private and public parties as well as the abolition of scientific, sporting or cultural events.
  • Prohibition of prayer in mosques.
  • Ban of weekly markets
  • Ban on organized trips (entertainment, cultural, hiking, camping) to and from the Mahdia region.
  • Shit down of all private sports halls, games rooms and Moorish baths. I

In addition, the committee decided to strengthen the monitoring of compliance with the application of health protocols in public establishments, regulated means of transport for people (buses, trains, tourist transport) and industrial institutions.

It additionally tasked regional directors with executing these protocols and sanctioning violators. Likewise, the committee decided to maintain the session permanently, adding that supplementary measures will be taken later depending on the evolution of the health situation in the region.
