Virology Professor Mahjoub Ouni announced today the discovery of a new infectious omicron variant.
He revealed that the omicron is the most common variant in Tunisia indicating that the strain has variants that produce the “BA5” branch.
According to Ouni, this strain has led to a 3rd strain called “BQ1.1” which is currently spreading in Europe.
The specialist that the “BA5” virus is the most widespread in Tunisia while reassuring the health situation in the country.
