Tunisia-Mahjoub Ouni: new COVID variant is more contagious than Omicron

Member of the Scientific Committee Mahjoub Ounic confirmed this Monday, April 11, 2022, that a new variant of the coronavirus has been caught in several nations such as India and the United Kingdom. Ouni clarified to a private radio that this new “XE” variant is a recombinant of the Omicron BA.1 and BA.2 subvariants, highlighting the necessity to complete the vaccination schedule. Indeed, he clarified that the new recombinant is more infectious than Omicron although the symptoms remain the same.
