Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Minister Mahmoud Elyes Hamza declared that water scarcity is one of the significant issues confronting the new agricultural season.
He indicated that the distribution of drinking water needs to be the top priority, the TAP reports.
The minister further confirmed that the water situation in Tunisia is difficult, which prompts the competent authorities to speed up the resolution of this problem while taking into consideration the need to optimize and rationalize the distribution of water.
He emphasised that his department is operating through the strategic study of the water sector to 2050, to provide long-term solutions to this problem.
