Tunisia-Malek Ezzehi announces plan to end subcontracting contracts

Minister of Social Affairs Malek Ezzahi chaired a meeting on Thursday dedicated to subcontracting and precarious employment.

Following this meeting, the Ministry of Social Affairs revealed that Minister Malek Ezzahi has set in place a six-point plan to end subcontracting contracts in companies and facing precarious employment in all areas. The minister recommended:

  • Establish a national inventory of subcontracting companies and the number of their workers;
  • Intensification of control campaigns targeting precarious employment and monitoring of working conditions in these companies;
  • Lead reflection around mechanisms to deal with all forms of precarious employment and the presentation of a vision; regulations relating to new forms of work;
  • Apply the law and boost control around health conditions and professional safety in workplaces;
  • Guarantee the continuity of the employment campaign for individuals with specific needs;
  • Examine issues at the level of the Labor Code, especially those related to subcontracting.
