Tunisia-Mashrou Tounes will not join Habib Jemli government

In a declaration made on the sidelines of his meeting with Prime Minister-designate Habib Jemli, Mohsen Marzouk, general secretary of Machrouû Tounes declared that his party is not joining the next government. He attributed the decision due to his party’s insufficient parliamentary representation.

Marzouk pointed out that Machrou Tounes is regarded by the government trajectory and everything that interests the country.Explaining that the meeting comes as a response to the PM invitation to consult with various parties on the new government formation.

The government should be formed based on competencies, a criterion that does not appear to be a priority thus far, he stated.
He asserted that the brand-new government will be either compromised of all parties named in parliament and in this case, it will be a fragmented one or a consolidated government formed by Ennahdha and in which it needs to assume its duties as the party with the most considerable number of seats in parliament.
