Tunisia-Meeting between Kaïs Saïed and Ahmed Hachani on Tunisia’s economic and social priorities

President of the republic Kaïs Saïed met Friday, May 24, 2024, with Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani at the Carthage Palace to examine national emergencies and priorities in the economic and social fields.

Commitment to effective and equitable governance

During this meeting, President Kais Saïed emphasised the necessity to speed up the drafting of new legislation breaking with the past and opening broader perspectives for all Tunisians.

It is about promoting the creation of wealth and guaranteeing its equitable distribution. The president likewise insisted on the simplification of administrative procedures to eliminate obstacles for investors, whether national or foreign.

Rationalization of expenses and optimal management of resources

Another critical point discussed during this meeting is the rationalization of public expenditure and the adequate management of financial and human resources in the public sector.

This focus on optimizing resources is essential to stabilize and advance the Tunisian economy.

Economic performance and self-dependence

The president also noted several positive economic indicators, including the control of inflation. He affirmed that the choice of self-dependence adopted by the Tunisian people has led to positive results despite current global difficulties and a heavy national legacy characterised by decades of destruction, corruption and degradation.

This meeting demonstrates the continued dedication of the Tunisian presidency to overcoming historical and current challenges to build a stable and prosperous economic and social future for Tunisia.

The focus on legislative improvement and economic management indicates a proactive approach to internal and external issues.
