The customs guard brigade has just seized, in the region of Menzel Bourguiba (governorate of Bizerte), a sum of one million Tunisian dinars, hidden inside a safe in a shop, said on Saturday, in a press release, the General Directorate of Customs. “the owner of the store has not presented documents proving the legality of the detention of such a sum.”It added.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the seizure of the aforementioned amount and the transfer of the case to the Economic Brigade, under the Ministry of Finance, for further investigation.
It should be noted that this operation was carried out by a joint patrol with the services of the Regional Tax Directorate and those of Commerce, as part of the activities targeting the guarantee of the regularity of the supply and the fight against smuggling and parallel trade.
