Tunisia -Ministry of Agriculture warns of Bird flu

The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources has warned farmers, and particularly poultry farmers, to exercise all precautionary steps to prevent the spread of the Bird flu on farms.

This notice follows the announcement of numerous outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza, in many nations such as Russia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. Remembering that Tunisia is on the migration corridor utilised by migratory birds from these countries, towards Africa.

The agriculture ministry advises enclosing farmed poultry and keeping them away from contact with wild birds, and protecting their food and drinking water from infection by migratory birds.
