Tunisia-Ministry of Health and Qatar Charity ink cooperation agreements

The Ministry of Health and Qatar Charity inked a two framework cooperation agreements for the five-year programme 2020-2024 on the coronavirus control project .

“The five-year renewable framework agreement intends to assist the efforts of the Tunisian State in the sector of health and to give open financing according to the needs of the Ministry of Health based on special projects offered by one of the parties and approved by the Ministry of Health.
The agreement specifies that the Ministry of Health is responsible for carrying out the work of the agreed cooperation projects and the organisation will finance these projects within the framework of the contractual responsibilities of each of them.
The Ministry undertakes, under this framework agreement, to present proposals for collaboration projects to be funded by the association, with priority being given to projects to combat infectious diseases and natural disasters.
The Ministry also vows to provide all the logistical means required for the technical and legal implementation of any project and to observe its implementation.
For its part, the organisation is expected to carry the costs of studying and carrying out the agreed projects within the framework of the budget enlisted for that purpose, except in the event of a change in costs due to force majeure or an emergency order.
As for the agreement on the project to fight the spread of the coronavirus, which was also signed Thursday, it stipulates that Qatar Charity, Tunisia, will finance the project to build specific rooms and provide them with the medical and health equipment needed to deal with this virus, with a budget of 300,000 Tunisian dinars.
The implementation of this project will last one year, renewable in case of the return of the virus in Tunisia, provided that the Ministry undertakes, in particular, to provide land for the construction of advanced screening rooms and all the information and documents needed for this project, in addition to the medical and service staff.
