Tunisia- Ministry of Higher Education requires student to do master’s thesis outside faculty

The scientific council of the Faculty of Law of Sousse published a press release dating from August 1 in which it denounces the correspondence of the Ministry of Higher Education asked to organize the thesis of two students not registered at the faculty, at the headquarters of the university if needed.

The same correspondence also attributes to the secretary-general of the faculty the function of issuing and signing the diplomas of the latter, following the alleged refusal of the dean of the faculty to do so.

The scientific council saw this correspondence as an affront and an overstepping of skills, as well as a politicization of the university, as the letter’s emissary appeared to be very close to the Shura council of the Ennahdha party.
