Tunisia-Ministry of Interior: 20 police officers injured

The Ministry of Interior stated protesters marched towards the ministry yesterday attempting to remove the iron barriers. According to the same source, the demonstrators assailed security units and threw stones, bottles and signs at them wounding 20 officers.

 

It affirmed that the security forces secured another protest held at the same time in front of the headquarters of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights under normal conditions. “The interior ministry is committed to securing the safety of protesters and maintaining public safety as well as the protection of public and private property. It will not hesitate to take the required measures against certain agents in the event of a violation of the law.
