Tunisia-Ministry of Religious Affairs announces new measures

Following the latest measures declared on Saturday by the health authorities as part of the fight against COVID-19, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to set in place the following new restrictions:

  • The Isha prayer will take place shortly after the call to prayer
  • Isha and Tarawih prayers should not surpass 30 minutes
  • Respect for barrier gestures, in particular social distancing, wearing a mask and an individual mat
  • The constant ventilation of places of worship
  • Calling on the worshippers to avoid taking children
  • Call on people of a certain age and people who have noticed the appearance of signs of infection to pray in their homes

The ministry further recalled that compliance with these measures remains the only way to avoid infection and the closure of mosques.
