Tunisia-Ministry of Religious Affairs warns against non-compliance with health protocol

The Ministry of Religious Affairs called for the necessity for the strict implementation of the health protocol in places of worship, after the meeting of the National Committee for the Fight against the Coronavirus and following the evaluation of the epidemiological situation and the degree of compliance with health measures.

In this context, the department affirmed the application of the following recommendations:

  • Friday sermon is limited to ten minutes.
  • Halt all activities in places of worship, including Quranic lessons, vocalization and tajweed (Quran reading) exercises.
  • Evening prayers and Tarawih prayers should not surpass thirty minutes (30 minutes).

The ministry stated that any breach of these measures would prompt the immediate closure of the said place.
