“The launch of 5G services will only be possible from 2022”. This was confirmed on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the Minister of Communication Technologies and the Digital Economy, Mohamed Fadhel Kraiem.
Participating in the Tunisia Digital Summit (October 27-28, 2020), the minister indicated that his department intends to prepare the specifications relating to the use of 5G technology (fifth generation of mobile telephony), in 2021.
“According to the first results of a study prepared by an international research firm under the aegis of the National Telecommunications Authority, the launch of 5G services is only possible from 2022”, he said, in a statement to the media.
“After the launch of the specifications, towards the end of 2021, pilot experiments will be carried out by the three telephone operators Tunisie Telecom, Ooredoo and Orange,” he added.
