Tunisia-Mohamed Ammar suggests allocating 3% of bank profits to support social activities

Politician  Mohamed Ammar addressed the profits registered by Tunisian banks in 2021. “Nearly 1400 billion profit from Tunisian banks last year, not to cite the rest of the companies, particularly the big boxes. In many nations, including rich countries like the Gulf States, all listed companies assign 2.5% to support culture, sport and education,” he said.

“These deductions go to a fund affiliated with the Ministry of Finance to support social activities, and this is necessary and non-negotiable as part of corporate social responsibility,” he added. Mohamed said that companies and banks in Tunisia do not provide anything to society except “the looting of workers”. “Accordingly, I call on the President of the Republic to issue a decree in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank to allocate a percentage of profits of 3% to support sport, education, culture and health. “, he continued.
