Tunisia-Mohamed Safi: Part-time teachers surprised by “contract below their expectations” [Video]

In an interview with Tunisie Numérique on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Mohamed Safi, the Secretary-General of the General Federation of Secondary Education, expressed his shock over a contract that did not meet the expectations of teachers. He mentioned that the contract, supposed to cover 12 months, only extended to nine and a half months, leading to dissatisfaction among temporary teaching staff.

Safi highlighted that teachers are not content with the 500-dinar increase and are demanding the execution of articles mentioned in the contract, particularly regarding their recruitments since 2023, estimated at one thousand teachers. He emphasized the need for specific standards to address precarious employment in the sector.
