Tunisia-More than 200 control operations carried out by the environmental police

The head of the environmental police office, Tarek Bekir, declared that units under the municipality of Tunis conducted 202 control operations during the first half of November.

Seventy complaints from citizens concerning hygiene and cleanliness in premises open to the general public, extreme use of the sidewalk, non-compliance with the application of the health protocol and the requirements for the discharge of commercial waste were received at during the same period.

Also, approximately 128 written warnings were drafted, including 107 fines, of which 40 relate to the failure to wear masks in public spaces.
