Regional director of health for the governorate of Tunis Tarek Ben Nasr announced that 230 cases of coronavirus infection were registered last August against 26 in July 2023.
Ben Nasr clarified that “22 people were hospitalized in August, two of whom were admitted to intensive care, compared to 13 hospitalizations in July 2023”, he added in a statement to the tap agency.
He called on all citizens especially the elderly and people with chronic illnesses to get vaccinated to avoid contamination.
