Interior Minister Taoufik Charfeddine visited Barcelona train station in Tunis on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, to examine the scope of citizens’ engagement to wearing the protective mask.
The Minister of the Interior evoked, on this occasion, that the number of penalties imposed for non-compliance with wearing a mask in public spaces and sites is on the increase, citing 75,000 violations.
Speaking to Mosaqiue FM, he said that this figure is much higher as new offences are committed every day.
Today, the Interior Ministry recalled that, after raising awareness, the situation now demands a higher level of rigour in the strict application of sanitary measures, in accordance with the directives of the head of government, Hichem Mechichi.
As such, the Interior Ministry declared in a press release that a set of measures will be administered as part of the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
There will be a move to a higher level regarding the application of barrier measures to fight the coronavirus including the wearing of a mask, the Interior Ministry warned yesterday.
