The General Directorate of the National Guard revealed in a statement on Sunday evening that a patrol from the Central Highway Sub-Directorate intercepted a young woman at the Messaadine toll station while she was travelling in a shared taxi. During the operation, authorities seized four blocks of cannabis in her possession.
Investigations conducted by National Guard units in Sousse revealed that the suspect was implicated in an international drug trafficking network. Her activities included supplying, transporting, distributing, mediating, trafficking, and consuming a controlled substance listed under Schedule B, as well as money laundering.
The suspect has been taken into custody as further investigations continue.
