Tunisia: Municipal agents and civil servants begin a 2 days strike

The General Federation of Municipal Agents has declared the holding of a sectoral general strike, this Monday and Tuesday, February 21 and 22, 2022, in all municipalities, technical agencies and affiliated establishments, due to the marginalization encountered by the sector, the anarchy and abuse of power seen by municipal councils.

The sectoral administrative body of the General Federation of Municipal Agents has asked for the publication of the statute of municipal agents in charge of environmental services and the updating of the statute of municipal agents in charge of management. The Trade Union Federation also highlighted the necessity to finalize the negotiation on the professional code of municipal workers, to activate the convention to form a national day of the municipal agent, to clarify the administrative situation.
