The mayor of Tunis Souad Abderrahim announced at the closing of the exceptional municipal council that inquiries have been initiated against some of the agents for fraud and corruption associated with bribes in the registration of marriage contracts and a second investigation relating to the designation of an inspector general as director of the environmental services agency
Abderrahim brought that the hearing of witnesses and the veracity of their depositions continue and the judgment will be pronounced soon. In addition, and because of the quota needed of municipal elected officials, the council has deferred the prospecting of files on the agenda such as those of compensation and requisition of housing for the general interest.
In a statement to TAP, the municipal councillor Amel Bouzaiene said that, since her election, the municipal council has to its credit accomplishments and despite a lengthy eclipse of 10 of the elected officials who have been conspicuous by their absence since the last municipal.
The council also approved the project of the twinning Tunis with the Algerian capitals Algiers and Iraqi Baghdad.
