Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, head of the Tunisian Observatory for Rights and Liberties, Mustafa Abdel Kabir, shed light on the developments in the situation at the Ras Jedir crossing, border after its closure on the Libyan side last March 19. Abdel Kabir stated that the problems are significant so far. It consists of coordination between the Libyan parties and failure to reach an agreement.
The spokesman clarified that the situation at the Ras Jedir crossing has changed, as the dispute is no longer related to who influences the crossing, but rather it is represented by a lack of deal between the two sides regarding the logistical aspect, and preparing the corridors, given that only two corridors are not enough.
Abdel Kabir confirmed that it is anticipated that the crossing will be opened at the start of next month, that is, on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
