Tunisia-Nabeul: 12 municipal councillors in Fondouk Jedid submit resignation

Twelve members of the municipal council of Fondouk Jedid in Grombalia, Nabeul have submitted their resignation

In the letter of resignation, sent to the governor, they emphasised the failure of maintaining work in the council considering due to the tenacity of the mayor and his monopoly on choices, which has hindered municipal actions.

The mayor has not been dismissed from office despite a ruling published on July 24, 2019, following a presumed corruption, they told.

The municipal council of Fondouk Jedid is composed of 17 members and chaired by mayor Mohamed Yosri Nouira from Ennahdha party.

Article 205 of the code of local authorities grants that the council shall be dissolved 15 days after the collective resignation of the majority of members.
