Tunisia-Nabeul: Woman arrested for attempted murder after trying to get rid of her baby

The public prosecution in Nabeul charged a woman with murder after she deliberately attempted to get rid of her newborn infant.

According to Shems FM, security units were notified by the pediatric department at Muhammad al-Talatli Hospital. The baby had been subjected to major deformities as a result of severe violence. After inquiry, it turns that the single mother attempted to get rid of the baby to hide the fact that she had given birth.

Sources from Nabeul regional health administration said that the baby is in danger state and requires intensive care.

 

Whereas, the Child Protection delegate in Nabeul Wahid bin Youssef stated that the Childhood Protection delegate is in the process of following up on the situation with its full commitment to take care of this baby.
