Child protection delegate Wahid Ben Ramadan announced that the family judge at Grombalia court issued a ruling to abolish a children’s beauty pageant.
In a statement to Mosaique FM, he said that an association published the contest on its Facebook page to participate, and has received notification from several citizens, given that this announcement is a “precedent in Tunisia”.
Ben Ramadan indicated that he found that the competition would take place on Facebook by issuing pictures of children, their names and personal information, which violates the law relating to personal data. The family judge consequently ordered the suspension of the competition and authorized Tunisian Internet Agency to remove the page from Facebook.
