Tunisia-Nabil Baffoun: It was impossible for ISIE to discover all the electoral violations

It was impossible for the Independent Higher Authority for the Elections (ISIE) to find all the violations mentioned in the report of the Court of Auditors ”, ISIE president Nabil Baffoun told the TAP agency.

Baffoun stressed that the work presented by the court is an “in-depth” report which required investigation and cross-checks over a year of work, which explains the fact that the body was not able to discover these violations before.

He also considered that this report involves the issuance of judicial decisions which will be rendered either by the Court of Auditors or by the judiciary. ISIE  can only intervene following the delivery of verdicts by the Court of Auditors on the invalidation of certain candidates.
