Tunisia-Nabil Karoui returned to prison

Qalb Tounes leader Nabil Karoui was returned to jail this Wednesday, June 9, 2021, despite his critical state of health.

“Nabil Karoui was forcibly returned to prison despite his critical state of health and the hunger strike he started five days ago,” reads the official page of Qalb Tounes leader.

The examining magistrate at the economic and financial judicial pole decided to transport Nabil Karoui to a public health establishment to receive the needed care. He will be returned to prison as soon as his state of health improves, Mohsen Daly, spokesperson for the economic and financial judicial pole, told TAP on Tuesday.
