Tunisia-Nabil Karoui: We have never been in disagreement with the Ennahdha

Qalb Tounes party president Nabil Karoui stated he and his party “have never been in disagreement with the Ennahdha party”. The only period when relationships were slightly tense was a month before the passing of the former head of state Bèji Caid Essebsi.

Karoui also examined that the political regime in Tunisia demands the cooperation of the two winning parties in the legislative elections in order to guarantee a minimum of stability in the country.

He, in the same vein, considered that this cooperation is the only means to evade blockages within the framework of the electoral law in force. This law “was written by small parties fearing the domination of Ennahdha” which was, he recalls, well ahead of its competitors during the first post-revolutionary legislative elections.
