In a statement to Tunisie Numérique today, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, financial and economic expert Bassam Naifer stated that economic growth reaching 2.1 percent for the entire current year is considered good news after the average economic performance during the first quarter of the year. He pointed out that the third quarter is extremely important for the Tunisian economy due to its relation to the tourism sector.
Naifer noted that consumption reaches its peak in the summer in light of holidays, family seasons, etc., adding that the initial data demonstrate that the growth rate will be better than what was registered in the first trimester of the year, highlighting that this rate remains largely linked to the agricultural sector, given that its performance is critical in economical.
Our speaker also said that if things go well concerning the incidence of wheat, olive oil, and the date season at the end of the year, and if the rainy season is also good, then it is possible to speak about this percentage and even more.
