In a statement to Tunisie Numérique today, Tuesday, May 21, 202, financial and economic analyst Bassam Naifer stated that initial indicators show that it is clear that the tourist season for the year 2024 will be encouraging and perhaps even better than the earlier season.
Naifer added that the significance of this season for the Tunisian economy is extremely great at a time when the country is suffering from a scarcity of foreign financing resources, remarking that the revenues from the tourism sector will provide hard currency for the internal exchange market.
Our speaker furthermore pointed out that the tourism sector has an extremely important social role, particularly through the job opportunities it provides for many young people in tourist areas and even the interior. Even if they are seasonal, they play a very important role in turning the wheel of the economy.
