The president of the Syndicate of dispensing pharmacists of Tunisia (SPOT), Naoufel Amira announced today on a private radio that the prices of drugs are controlled by law while food supplements are marketed at free prices in pharmacies.
He further called on the authorities concerned to set the prices of food supplements. Controlling drug prices is the exclusive responsibility of the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Health, pharmacists have nothing to do with it, he revealed.
Naoufel Amira also said there was a lack of drugs due to increased demand, especially for drugs recommended for people with Covid-19.
