Tunisia-national coalition calls for the cancellation of legislative elections

The National Coalition called for the revocation of the legislative elections on December 17, underscoring the imperative to accelerate the creation of an expert commission to set up a new electoral law.

“The results registered during the legislative election show” the popular illegitimacy “of this political deadline, deplore the political party, in a declaration.

In addition, the national coalition invited the quartet that sponsored the national dialogue of 2013, to initiate a national dialogue to cope with the crisis that jolts the country, calling to protect state institutions against any authoritarian drift.

For the party, the new electoral decree law led to a decline in the role of the Parliament and rendered the deputies “without political identity”.
