Tunisia-National Council of Regions and Districts: Only 13% women members

The Independent Higher Authority for Elections (ISIE) validated the final results of the election for members of the National Council of Regions and Districts, as well as the composition of the second Parliamentary Chamber, on Wednesday, April 3rd.

 
 
 

The National Council of Regions and Districts is made up of 77 members, of which only 13% are women (10) compared to 67 men, or 87%.

In regional councils, members represent just 12.5% of members. Of the 72 members, there are 63 men and 9 women.

In the District Councils (5 elected), only one woman is represented.
