Tunisia-New health measures: Curfew starts at 10 p.m

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, has decided to delay the curfew he instituted this week from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m as of August 1, according to a presidential statement released on Friday, July 30, 2021. By virtue of this presidential decree the following measures were likewise decided:

  • Public, private and family demonstrations and gatherings remain forbidden in open and closed spaces
  • lifting of tables and chairs is obligatory from 7 p.m. in cafes and restaurants of all categories
  • travellers to Tunisia must submit a negative PCR test no more than 72 hours before check-in and carry out a seven-day self-quarantine upon arrival on Tunisian soil
  • Military and civilian health authorities are called on to accelerate  the rate of vaccination
  • the supervisory authorities must more rigorously control the application of preventive measures and health protocols in all sectors, public and private spaces and in public transportation
  • Directors of the multiple administrative structures must for their part encourage teleworking as much as possible except for the internal security forces, the military, customs and agents of the Ministry of Health
  • Business leaders active in the private sector must further ensure the application of the aforementioned measures
  • Parties involved in the battle against Covid-19 are called upon to unify measures and expedite coordination at the regional level according to the indicators of the spread of the Coronavirus between delegations
