Tunisia-New lobbying contracts – I WATCH files a complaint against Ennahdha

IWATCH declared its plan to file a complaint against the Ennahdha Movement. The NGO said that in addition to the lobbying contracts concluded by the Movement before the elections of 2014 and 2019, Ennahdha approved other deals with the American company “Burson-Marsteller”, worth 355,850.79 $, or approximately a million dinars.
I WATCH evoked that under Decree-Law No. 2011-87 of September 24, 2011, on the organization of political parties, it is forbidden for political parties to accept:
  • Direct or indirect funding, in cash or in-kind from a foreign party.
  • Direct or indirect funding from an anonymous source.
The NGO has indicated that it will give a detailed report on this breach to the Court of auditors and that it will file a complaint about suspected funding from an unnamed source within the meaning of Organic Law n ° 2015-26 of August 7, 2015. , relating to the battle against terrorism and the suppression of money laundering.
