Tunisia – Nigeria: pre-match conference

Ahead of the match between the Carthage Eagles and the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the pre-match press conference gave us the following remarks from Jalel Kadri and Aissa Laidouni.

Tunisian assistant coach Jalel Kadri stated: “We wish that all players and staff affected by Covid-19 will return as soon as possible.” He added: “The Tunisian National Team has history, experience and quality. Our ambitions are high, we have faith in the team, we have experience and self-confidence. We have matching chances against Nigeria. We have 23 players who are ready and we have executed some changes which will be discovered during the game”.

 

 
Tunisian defensive midfielder Aissa Laidouni said: “We are not scared of Nigeria, tomorrow we will be soldiers. We are really concentrated, it is true that we have cases of Covid but we will give our all and tomorrow you will have soldiers in front of you”.
 
 
 
 On the other side, Nigeria coach Augustin Eguavoen affirmed that “This match against Tunisia will have the identical respect, the same approach… The people of Garoua have been extremely supportive. Even though we know we have support at home, the support of the people of Garoua on the ground is especially significant. The welcome from the first day has been extremely great”. As for, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi underlined: “As a player, I don’t have a special player that I would like to play with. I have to assist the team and also all the players to win. We’re just a team striving for the exact goal, I don’t really care about getting personal recognition. I just want to play football and do my best to help the team.”
