Tunisia- Nissaf Ben Alaya : Re-analyse for COVID-19 rapid test due to mistake in utilization

Director of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases  Nissaf Ben Alaya affirmed the cancellation of some COVID-19 rapid test analyzes due to their inaccuracy and after the identification of a mistake in usage in one of its stages. The announcement comes after doctors on social media criticized photos published by the ministry  regarding campaigns for rapid tests which was removed later

Ben Alia confirmed to Mosaïque FM that the Ministry will redo the tests in some areas where the tests were not conducted correctly, without specifying these areas. She pointed out that the margin of mistake in the correct use of the rapid testes which totals 6000 ones ranges between 5 to 15%. She explained the error is given by saying “they are in the stage of experimental use of these analyzes,” adding that they have completed monitoring the extent of citizens’ acceptance of these analyzes and the rate of The ability of the teams to extract the results of the analyzes.
