Tunisia-Nissaf Ben Alaya was not dismissed from the scientific council,” said Habib Kechaou

Speaking to Media Outlet Leaders, interim helath minister Habib Kechaou stressed “Professor Nissaf Ben Alya has never been dismissed from the Covid-19 Scientific Council,”

He explained that his predecessor  Abdellatif Mekki had created by ministerial decision last March a scientific council chaired by the Minister of Health and composed of specialists in various disciplines, including in particular Prof. Ben Alaya, a renowned epidemiologist and director-general of the Director of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases (ONMNE).

Without executing the slightest change in its initial composition, adds Habib Kechaou, it has strengthened the team of two personalities chosen for their expertise in the fields of sociology and anthropology. The Minister did not fail to pay tribute on this occasion to the activities undertaken by both ONMNE and the Scientific Council, giving a special mention to Professor Ben Alaya. Punctuating this tribute, he said that he himself went to the headquarters of the Observatory to congratulate the teams.
