The government has mobilised funds worth 12 million dinars as part of a national plan to address the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Nissaf Ben Alaya, Director of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases, said Wednesday.
Speaking to TAP, Ben Alaya added that the Health Ministry has so far spent 4 million dinars in the implementation of that plan, adding that these funds have been earmarked to the purchase of medical equipment and health material to combat the spread of the virus.
She stressed that the Prime Ministry ensures instant coordination with the Health Department, as part of monitoring the implementation of the national strategy to address the coronavirus.
She said, in this context, that the number of people who have been placed in self-quarantine is close to 3000 people.
