Tunisia-“No to the demolition” of the Hôtel du Lac

No to demolition”, a virtual awareness campaign was started on the Internet against the demolition of the Hôtel du Lac in Tunis, launched by “Artist Mouna” and interior designer Manna Jemal, to raise awareness among citizens on the value of safeguarding this historic building.

The owner of this hotel had declared its demolition in 2013. An announcement that before ignited a demonstration movement led by civil society.

As a reminder, this building was built from 1970 to 1973 by the Italian architect Raffaele Contigiani. The Hôtel du Lac is a symbol of modernity in Tunis in its time, it has been shut down for 20 years.
