Scatec Solar has been given three solar power plant schemes in Tunisia equaling nearly 360 MW after an international tender propelled by the Ministry of Industry and SMEs earlier this year.
The three projects of nearly 60 MW, 60 MW and 240 MW will be settled in Tozeur, Sidi Bouzid and Tataouine sequentially.
The solar power plants will operate 20 years of a Power purchase agreement with the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas(STEG). The solar plants are presumed to produce approximately 830 GWh per year, enough electricity to power more than 300,000 Tunisian households yearly and providing to dodge 480,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
Scatec Solar will be the head investment in the projects. The company will further be the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) provider and present Operation & Maintenance as well as Asset Management services to the power plants.
