Tunisia-Number of Algerian tourists rise to 13%

Algerian tourist numbers had progressively increased to 13% by the ultimate end of July 2019 in marked contrast to the same period of last year, said Minister of Tourism René Trabelsi.

The number of tourists who have visited Tunisia has surpassed 5 million, said the minister, stating the tourist season is progressing well.

Speaking during promotional handicraft days which was held at Tunis Carthage airport, on the festive occasion of National Women’s Day, the minister promptly dismissed local reports of an economic slump in the considerable number of Algerian tourists.

Commenting on the promotional handicraft days, Trabelsi announced that the cultural event would extend until the end of August. The principal aim of the event, especially for women, is to properly promote Tunisian crafts to tourists and naturally encourage young artisans to showcase their innovative products, he added.
