Tunisia-October 2023: 9 suicide attempts, 29 cases of violence and 180 protest movements registered

The Tunisian Social Observatory reporting to the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights (FTDES) registered 9 suicide attempts in October, including 3 in public spaces.

During October, the Observatory recorded a total of 180 protest movements, almost 50% of which were organized in support of a person or organization or to defend workers’ rights. The governorates of Gafsa and Tunis documented the largest number of protest movements recorded in the country.

The observatory also recorded 29 cases of violence including 8 cases of murder.
