Tunisia-OECT : measures of the 2023 finance law are likely to increase inflation

The order of accountants of Tunisia (OCE) called not to enlist within the framework of the 2023 finance law, measures likely to grow the tax burden and inflation rate, increase the charges on citizens and companies and impact purchasing power and business climate.

The OECT insisted on the necessity to include measures capable of initiating an in-depth and global tax reform within the framework of this law which is part of an integrated and clearly displayed economic strategy, which arouses the membership of the majority of economic and social actors.

And to add that it is necessary to take into consideration within the framework of this law, the observations and proposals made, to consecrate the participatory approach advocated by the authorities involved, in this sense. It also recollected that a meeting was held on November 7, 2022, between the members of the National Council of the Order and the Minister of Finance and that an accent was stressed, during this meeting, on the need to implicate accountants in the development of the 2023 finance law, given the significance of their role as active partners in the tax reform and confidence interlocutors with economic enterprises (…).
