Tunisia-OTE:European countries plan to restrict transfer of foreign residents’funds

The Office of Tunisians abroad (ETO) said in a statement published on October 1, 2022, that European countries plan to promulgate a law which will restrict the transfers of funds from foreign residents, outside Europe.

The OTE likewise indicates that some of these countries even seek to accelerate the implementation of this project, with the purpose of controlling these financial flows because of the economic crisis.

“It is to be feared that this project will be adopted and that European countries will be required to execute it, at a time when the transfers of funds from Tunisians  living abroad are experiencing a clear growth.” As a result, the Office called on the authorities to look into this file and give it all the required importance.
