In an interview with TAP, the president of the Tunisian Organization for Consumer Information (OTIC), Lotfi Riahi, pointed out the growth in the cost of school supplies for the 2023/2024 school year of 18% compared to the previous year.
The same source revealed that the cost of school supplies for a primary school student reached 600 dinars, while it increased to 700 dinars for a secondary school student.
“The prices of school textbooks have grown by 500 millimes, while the prices of unsubsidized notebooks range between 6 and 25 dinars, school bags between 90 and 120 dinars and sports outfits between 150 and 200 dinars,” indicated Lotfi Riahi.
