Yasser Hana a Palestinian citizen working for the Palestinian embassy in Tunisia launched an initiative with volunteers called “Yatikoum Saha” to distribute meals to medical and security frameworks that are combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, he said that the idea came to light after a call from a doctor working in Monji Slim hospital who posted on a Group called “On a mangé pour Vous” in which he expressed concerns of securing meals for medical personals.
Our speaker saw the post and got the idea to make this initiative, he got together with restaurant owners and worked with Kais Badoui owner of wolf and rabbit restaurant in Manar and made the restaurant as their main headquarters to prepare and deliver meals to medical teams.
Networks in hospitals were established to count the number of health works in need of meals, furthermore, the initiatives extended to delivering meals to security and municipality workers in delegations. The SAMU 01 took the charge to deliver the meals. The project delivered up to 25.000 means until now
